Instructions for Assembling Your Large Pedestal Kit

    In this box:

    • Pedestal Base
    • Cross Feet (2)
    • Cross Arms (2)
    • Hardware: Bolts (8) and Washers (8)

    You will need:

    • ¾” Socket Wrench1

    Instructions:

    • Unpack the kit and make sure you have all of the needed parts.
    • Put the pedestal base upside down (it will be standing on the four square ‘posts’)
    • Place the first pedestal foot on top of it. This is the foot with the flattened top.
    • Take the second pedestal foot and interlock it on the first. This is the foot with the square indent top.
    • Make sure the holes on the feet and pedestal base are lined up.
    • Take a washer and place it over each of the holes, then put a bolt in each of them.
    • Take the ¾” Socket wrench and begin to tighten them down. TIGHTEN THEM EVENLY- don’t fully tighten one and then move to the others.  Tighten each a little bit in turn until they are snug.  Make sure not to overtighten or you could strip the wood. **
    • Flip over the pedestal base with the feet now attached into the upright position.
    • Place the first pedestal arm interlocking with the four ‘posts’ and the top of the pedestal. This should3 be the arm with the square cut out on the flat side. (the flat side of the arm should be facing up)
    • Place the second pedestal arm interlocking with the first. This should be the arm with no cut outs on the flat side.
    • Make sure the holes on the arms and pedestal base are lined up.
    • You have now completed the assembly of the Large Pedestal Kit!

If you aren’t sure how you want to attach a table top to this kit, our production team has two possible methods for you:

    • Use a plywood square (44 5/8”L x 44 5/8”W x ½”D will let the square cover to the edges of the arms)and screw that down into the pedestal arms. You can then screw up through the plywood into the table top above.
    • Use 2 plywood strips (44 5/8”L x about 4 ½”W x ½”D) to cover each of the arms. It is the same process as the first to attach, but less plywood is needed.

And of course, you are free to attach it any other way you can think of as well!

**If you strip the wood, a possible fix is to put wood glue in the hole and then put the bolt back in to tighten.
